I'm baking in the sun, sitting tall on a horse-drawn carriage that's been hired to clip-clop us out of the ancient town of Luxor. This may be romantic in some tourists' books, but wouldn't a taxi be more practical? Riding shotgun next to the driver — while hanging onto whatever I can so as not to tumble off — I begin to marvel at how a horse can maneuver through crazy car traffic.
