Hi from Rick: Season 13 Is Here!

Researching guidebooks, working on our bus tours, making new discoveries, always learning…as a travel evangelist — some would even say "guru" — I get to do a lot of exciting work while in Europe.

One of the tasks I love most is making our TV shows. Weaving my favorite dimensions of a city or region into a tight 3,000-word script, scrambling with my nimble and talented crew for six days per episode, and bringing home the footage — it's exhilarating, nonstop creative collaboration. We're always "chasing the light," harnessing serendipity, and carbonating it all with the voices, passions, and expertise of locals. (Meanwhile, I'm trying to scrub that script so each word earns its keep, remember my lines, and not splatter olive oil on my virgin wardrobe.)
