France by train in May
I'm a 28 year old female attorney who is planning to fly into Paris mid-May and spend about two weeks traveling to Montpelier, Lyon, etc. by train. I'm flexible on travel plans, but I don't want to spend more than a few days in Paris as I have spent a lot of time there and just want a quick fix - I mainly want to venture out into the rest of France. I prefer to travel with another female around the same age. I'm looking for someone to possibly split hotels, eat meals, attend concerts, and go to bars with. If our interests overlap I'm fine visiting museums, sites, markets, neighborhoods, etc. together but I also don't mind splitting up during the day and regrouping for dinner. I'm a fairly seasoned traveler and speak French. I'm easygoing and am looking for a relaxing but cultural time. I prefer cities and am not really a beach or adventure travel kinda person. My spending philosophy is to do hotels (can't do hostels - too old for that now!) and transportation fairly cheaply but splurge on some good food and drinks once in a while. I like to go out to bars and clubs (nothing too crazy, though), and I do like to shop, even if I don't buy much! Paris in mid-June
Salut! I'm a 35 year-old high school French teacher looking to spend about a week or more in Paris in the second half of June. I have traveled and seen a lot, so this summer I want to just get my "French fix" and make sure I take in the temporary exhibit on Marie Antoinette which ends June 30th. I'm not much for the club scene, but I enjoy good food and wine along with culture, scenery, and a little shopping. I'm looking to do it on the cheap side, but not sure if that involves hostels yet. I'd prefer to spend my travel budget on a few good meals and some quality souvenirs than a nice hotel. I like doing girly stuff, so I would prefer a another woman with similar interests to travel with. TRANS - SIBERIAN and RTW trip Sep 08
Looking for travel companion for all or part of an around the world adventure September 2008. I plan to fly from the west coast into China, see friends for a few days, then board the Trans-Siberian in Beijing for the trip into Mongolia and Russia. Probably make two or three stops within Russia. (I have been to Russia before) After that, I'd like to revisit the Baltics, and a couple countries in western Europe as well. I think three weeks will be enough time, while staying within budget. Flying into China from the west coast of the US is just over $500, and flying back home from western Europe is just over $400. Europe Late Spring 2008
I am a 56 y/o baby boomer architect making my first trip overseas.
I am spending 3 weeks in Europe beginning May 20 and returning June 11. I arrive in Bath England (via Heathrow and the train) on May 21. I already have a B&B booked for Bath for 3 days but that is the extent of pre-reservations. I will spend from May 21 -May 28 in Bath, The Cotswolds and York before heading to Provence (Arles, etc) and Alsace (Colmar, Strasbourg, and Wittembourg) for the next week and end up in Belgium and The Netherlands for my last leg flying out of Amsterdam on June 11. As an architect I am interested in museums, cathedrals and pubs...not necessarily in that order:-).
I will be doing the "pack light" with a rail pass and buses. My Eurail pass is good for France, Germany and Benelux. I am traveling "frugally" but not in poverty mode. That is to say B&B's and local cafe's with a splurge now and then.
I am looking for preferably a female with similar life experience as a companion to share all or some of these experiences. Nothing else implied.

Anyone up for a meal or drink in Krakow or Ams? I am flying to Barcelona on April 23 for about 8 days and then probably on to Valencia and environs for a few days and then finish up in Madrid for 7 days and then fly back to Chicago on 12 May. Looking for a straight female to run around with of any age. I am late 40s, but have never learned to act my age and am a multilingual American, Italian born. Euro Cup 2008 & More (June 6th - July 21st)
I will be going backt o Europe this summer for some backpacking and the Euro Cup!! This will be my 4th time backpacking. I will be flying into Amsterdam and taking an overnight train to Switzerland and will spend first 12 days or so in Austria and Switzerland following all the games and attending some of them. I was at the 2006 World Cup in Germany and was lucky enought o attend 8 games; best experience ever. After frist 12 days or so, I will be going to Lake Bled for 2 days and then to Croatia for 4-5 days before returning to Vienna for the Euro Cup final. Afterwards, I will be going to Paris for a pair of Iron Maiden shows and then on to Amsterdam for the White Sensation. My trip will wrap up with London, Norway and Denmark. I am very good at getting around in Europe and live it up to the fullest. I stay mostly in Hostels, I take as many overnight trains as I can and save my money for entertainment. I love attending concerts in Europe as the crowds are second to none.
A little about me now: I am 25 years old, male and from Philadelphia but I live in Lansing, MI now and attending Law School here. I love to travel and then travel some more and when I am not in School or travelling, I attend as many sprting or entertainment events as possible. If you will be in Europe around the same time and interested in meeting up and backpacking together if the above activities appeal to you, shoot me an email. Anyone in Cinque Terre August 9?
Hi, My boyfriend and I will be in Cinque Terre for a few days in August, and we are looking to take one of Angelo's Boat Tours on August 9. The problem? It's a private boat hired by the hour. bicycle trip France third week of July
I am a 30-year-old male academic (assistant prof.) looking for responsible travelers interested in a joining "self-guided tour" of the Loire Valley, by bicycle, for about 1 week. Because of my schedule, it has to be the third week of July. We would purchase maps and other materials from Blue Marble travel telling us where to bike and giving up-to-date advice on where to stay/eat, and I would be renting my bike from them. A couple of my friends, who are also recent PhD's, are considering joining me already. We are all in fair (but not exceptional) physical condition, and all speak at least moderately good French (and fluent English, of course).
We would be staying in moderately priced accommodations (good hostels or decent hotels) and eating moderately priced fare (better than fast food but not necessarily gourmet).

In the early planning stages of a 2 week holiday to Portugal (likely Lisbon area mostly) and the Andalucia region of Spain the 2nd and 3rd weeks of May. Though I prefer to make my own major travel itineraries, would enjoy meeting up with someone also traveling solo ono for tapas or general around-town carousing! Zurich 4/19 to Milan 4/26 by car
I will be picking up a car in Zurich on 4/19. I have some business to conduct in Zurich, Neuchatel and Vaduz over the course of a couple days. Once done with that, weather in the mountains permitting, I plan to make my way to Milan via Balzano, the Passo Rolle, Feltre, Asolo, Verona, etc, finally arriving in Milan on 4/26 to pickup a travel buddy arriving that evening. I plan to stay in hostels, pensiones and B&B's. I'm not interested in paying for high thread count sheets, just clean and quiet with a cappuccino in the AM. Cycling Eastern Europe Summer 2008
I'm planning a two- or three-week bike trip in Eastern Europe from late August to mid-September and am looking for another intrepid cycle tourist to share the adventure. Plan to average about 45 miles a day, overnight in B&Bs and have dinner in inexpensive eateries. Itinerary will largely be in scenic, out-of-the-way, sometimes mountainous, locales and include visits to a few cities of historic or cultural interest. Looking for a travel partner with lots of stamina and a healthy sense of humor, age 35-45, with no qualms about cycling in the rain, cold or heat. Special diversions: photography, ancient towns, villages and ruins, regional brews, pastries, traditional music and the locals going about their daily lives. I am an American expat with a canalboat booked for May 5-12 on the Grand Union Canal at Market Harborough, England, and now my travel partner cannot go. Italian Villa to Share May 17-24, 1 hr from Rome
We have rented an Italian villa for the week of May 17th and can offer up 1 double and 2 single rooms for some independent minded adult travelers wishing to share it with us. Your own transportation is required. The price will be based on the total number of people sharing divided into the weekly rental price of $2,500 plus security of $125 pp. If all 8 spaces are filled the price will be $312.50 per person. You can’t beat that price for a week in Italy.
Our villa has the perfect Italian atmosphere, it is surrounded by a vineyard and olive trees. Some mornings you can hear the sheep being herded in the back field by a farmer. We’ve stayed here before and couldn’t ask for a better location as a home base to tour the Tuscan and Umbrian countryside. It is located approx. 50km north of Rome and about 6km from the local train station so you can easily get around. It is very close to the town of Orte.
We have a cook come in 3 times during our stay at the cost of 10 euros per hour plus food, shared by all who are eating. Having a wonderful Italian country cook feed us on our arrival night, after a long day of traveling is a real treat – and there are always leftovers the next day when Delores cooks!

I imagine the trip will take about 20 days. Low budget travelling. Have some friends in Paris and Hamburg.

Writer seeking travel buddy!
Writer and digital photographer in the very early planning stages of a trip to either Argentina (first time), or Italy/ Greece (again). Looking for a platonic travel buddy, F, 25-45 to explore and share expenses. This experience will be new for me.
Timing: Late Fall 2008 or early 2009. Could include a short (about 7 days) guided tour followed by a rail/ car trip. Planning to stay at medium priced hotels (2-3 stars) or clean well-located B&Bs, but no hostels or rowdy/ unclean places in questionable locale. Very flexible on itinerary and location.
An ideal travel partner is easy going, well educated, culturally appreciative of new/ foreign sites, has a spirit of adventure, clean hygiene, and can engage in intelligent conversation.
I am a 40ish, M, professional, highly educated, clean, and well traveled in Europe and Asia. Very comfortable in adapting with foreign cultures. Considerate, clean, and intellectually inclined.
