Mysteries of Paris & Waltzing in Vienna
My friend and I are traveling to Europe very soon and we have two experiences we'd like to do but we'd need to find 2 more people for each one to make it worth the price!

We will be in Paris from July 11th - 16th and we'd like to book a private "Mysteries of Paris" tour (http://www.mysteriesofparis.com/parisghosttour) because the only other day we could do a regular tour would be the night we arrive! Europe in Oct./Nov. 2009
Anyone venturing into Europe this Fall? I plan to go around the early part of Oct. and stay through to mid-Nov. or so.

I've already been to London, Paris, Lyon, Dijon, Avignon, Nice, Cannes, Monte Carlo, Barcelona, Pisa, Florence, Rome, Venice, Assisi, Vatican, Lucerne, Sisikon, Alpnachstad, Vaduz, Vienna, Mondsee, Hopfgarten, Mauthausen, Berlin, Munich, Heidelberg, Schriescheim, Rhineland, Hamburg, Brussels, Amsterdam, Edam, Volendam, Zaanse Schans, and Monnickendam; would enjoy returning to some of the same cities and esp. Germany, but am also considering trekking into Poland to see Auschwitz, going to Budapest and Prague, perhaps even Cesky Krumlov, and Salzburg in Austria, maybe Graz and/or Linz too.

I plan to stay in hostels for budgetary reasons and do a lot of shopping for my meals in grocery stores (I'm big on fresh bread, good cheese, and tasty wine with chocolate to follow). However, a nice restaurant meal every now and then is not out of the question.

I aim to do a great deal of walking and will consider biking as well. I'd love to go hiking through the Swiss Alps as well. Any and all fitness-minded travel types may email me. I'm 39 but very much in shape, I drink rarely and smoke never and have never taken drugs except OTC and prescrip.

Advice on riding the rails vs. rental cars vs. the bus are greatly welcome.

Summer 2010 Backpacking
Hi all. I realize that it is still a year away but I am planning a trip to backpack (and train) through Europe during the summer of 2010 staying at hostels along the way. Munich & Venice via train
Hi. I’m connecting Munich and Venice via train from 11 until 19 September, flying into Frankfurt and out of Milan. I’m into museums, architecture, history, street markets, and near constant movement. Not into bars, drugs, gourmet, or obvious tourist traps (unless, of course, the trap in question is a must see—the Coliseum in Rome comes to mind, as does Venice in general). I'm a 36 year old guy making my third trip to Europe, finally making my way to the Iberian Peninsula to check out Spain & Portugal. Doing rail pass / bus when more economical, some museums (Prado in Madrid, Dali Museum in Figueres), hitting the beach, check out the Alhambra, El Escorial, Segovia aqueducts, Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, Gibraltar, who knows). Below is a description of what he offers: "As far as tours, I do "all day" walking tours throughout Rome. For most newcomers to Rome, I do an ancient Rome tour which includes the Colosseo, Forum, Palatine Hill, Largo Argentina, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, and Spanish Steps - among other sites. I also do a Vatican day where we go to The Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel, St. Peter's Basilica, St. Peter's Square, a market near the Vatican, and if time permitting, we head over to Piazza Navona. My tours go all day, usually from about 9 AM - 5 PM. The cost is €100 + any entry fees for the parties and myself".

May/June 2009 European traveler by train
I fly to Germany in May, take a train to Poland for 3 to 4 days and then back to Germany to fly to the middle east. Then I will return the second week of June to Germany and use trains to travel until the end of June going to places I haven't been.... Can we travel Europe together?
Embarking on my first trip to Europe in May. I'm going to be flying into Athens, Greece and from there I hope to visit Macedonia, Bulgaria, Romania, Moldova, Ukraine, Hungary, Serbia, Bosnia, and other places. Then cut through central Europe onward to the western part of Europe (Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Italy, etc.) until I leave in either August or September. Bike touring southern Franch/Italian Riviera to Venice.
Easy going 36 year old strait guy, looking for easy going buddy (m/f) with some cycling experience. Must me in good health and decent fitness level for long cycling trips. I was born in Europe now living in US of A, planning to go bike touring/camping next year (may 2010) from Marseille to Cinque Terre using scenic and back roads across French and Italian Riviera and then crossing the mountains all the way up to Venice. Bikes and equipment travel with us as luggage from US to Marseilles. I'm camping using a small individual tent, eating in small, cheap restaurants along the way. One night stops in Toulon, St Tropez, Monaco and other places if camping is allowed. I'm thinking to go easy paddling (not racing), covering 30-50 miles daily for 18-20 days or so, depending on weather and terrain. Is anyone done it before? Pls share your experience! If everything's going as planned I intend to stop in Monaco and see the Formula Grand Prix race. (if possible). So, as you can see nothing is got to stay as schedule. Weekend Trips in Europe, May-July 2009
Hi! I'm going to be living in Stockholm this summer from May-July of 2009 and I'm looking to meet up with people already in Europe for weekend trips. Live like a local in Italy for the summer

Don't know where but somewhere in
Europe during pre-summer or early fall. I'm a spontaneous traveler when it comes to places and sights, don't care for canned tours except for day tours, prefer B&B's and street food to fancy hotels and fine dining, would rather walk than ride, travel with one carry-on bag, (always able to find a laundromat)and not into spending a lot of time shopping for clothes. I'm an ol' guy (68)and wondering if there's an unattached woman out there who might be in the same boat with regards to wanting to travel but not sure of where. Age isn't a factor, but obesity and smoking turn me off.

Eastern Europe June 2009
Maybe this is not the right message board because it is not "backdoor" but I've traveled to Europe several times using Rick Steves guides. It has been great but now I am ready for something a bit more "upscale."

I am planning on taking a 14 day trip with a tour company to Eastern Europe next June. They go to Poland, Budapest, Vienna, and Prague. They have a great itinerary, go to all the best sites, stay at top hotels and go to the best restaurants. I've been on a few of their tours and although they are pricey, it is a good value for what you get.

I usually like to plan my own itinerary and go without a group, but I prefer not to do that in Eastern Europe. However, I will be planning a pre-trip to London for a few days and a post-trip to stay in Vienna a few extra days. Those stays will be very budget minded. I will follow Rick Steves recommended hotels for that part of the trip.

I am married but, alas, my husband does not share my passion for travel. I am looking for a female travel partner to share a room on this trip and thus cut down on the expensive single supplement fee. It also would be more fun to share the travel experience with someone.

I love to travel and like to see as much as possible on my trips.

Central/Eastern Europe: Summer 2009
I will be spending 6-8 weeks in eastern Europe next summer (late June-early August), using Prague as my homebase with trips to Dresden, Berlin, Budapest, Eger, etc. Then will make my way to Northern Ireland (where I will be living after August 2009) via Croatia/Slovenia, Switzerland (Alps) and Paris.
