We are a family of five and would like to stay in a gitte , apartment, or hotel in Bayeux and St. Mere Eglise.
Any ideas?

erin, I'd suggest that you check some Guidebooks (Rick's?), if there are any Bookstores in your area that carry these. There probably won't be many listings for a gitte or apartment, but should be lots of choices for Hotels or B&B's.
Is there a particular reason you want to stay in St. Mere Eglise? You might find it easier to use Bayeux as a "base" to visit the other areas.
Sorry I can't offer more suggestions.

We love Hotel D'Argouge in Bayeux, it's listed in RS France guidebook.

We rented a lovely apartment next to the cathedral from this site. There are lots of english owners in that area and should have a lot of options.
St Mare Egliese is an easy drive from Bayeux.
We have used this site many times with great success.

Click on it and scroll down to the very bottom where there is a Deauville Studio apartment. You could talk with VacationInParis personnel (toll free - see dialing instructions) concerning whether it is sufficient for 5 people. The price is right!.
