That trip is way too ambitious. All that you're going to remember is hotel rooms and train stations. Remember that getting from the train station to your hotel, checking in, unpacking, re-packing, checking out, getting to the train station, etc. all take time. The farthest I would go on that itinerary is Salzburg. I've always felt that RS does a disservice when he lists his blitzkrieg tour. He assumes that everyone knows their way around everywhere and that everyone can sleep on a night train. Some people have reported getting only about 20 minutes sleep on a night train. Also, on a 2-week trip, you'll have to do laundry at least once.

Take another look at your guidebooks. There are places to see in France that can be done as a day-trip from Paris, such as the Loire valley. And you're really not allocating any time to Munich, which has several nice palaces. You can also detour down to Baden-Baden and visit the baths.

Saby,

I think you should think about cutting out a city or two because you have a lot on your plate right now and won't get as rewarding of an experience if you are busseling around trying to cram everything in. It will be much more enjoyable if you actually have time to enjoy! Good Luck

Thanks Laura for your suggestion. In my itinerary which cities would you suggest cutting? Also what part of the trip do you think needs to be lightened.

Saby: If I may be allowed to offer my compliments on your work revising the itinerary. Not always an easy thing to do. I've compared your revised itinerary with the original and noticed the thoughtful and significant changes you've made, allowing for travel time between destinations, eliminating others. I didn't have any input into the original suggestions that helped you but wanted to thank those who have given their suggestions which you have carefully considered. I think the result is a fine trip that will please you. Happy travels!
