Trenitalia problems (again)

Hello,
I've booked 2 sets of tickets on Trenitalia (I've booked before successfully) but this time I did not receive an email confirmation. They did, however, charge my credit card. The website confirmation page listed a retrieval code, not a PNR code. These tickets were purchased while not registered (sorry about that now). Anybody know how I can contact them or should I just dispute the charges. It took about a week for them to post to my credit card. The charges total about $350 - so no small thing. Thanks

Try bringing up the www.trenitalia.com main page. Go to Customers Area. At Customer's Area, select Online Purchases Management. At the bottom center, click on "If you bought without signing in". In the lower box on the right, click on Retrieve Purchase. A third box comes up that says Recovery Code. I realize that you have a Retrieval Code but, that's as close as I can get you for the moment. Others may have better answers.

I did the same thing the 1st time I booked on the website. Here's what I did: I went onto the customer page that the previous reply mentions, and entered the retrieval code. At some point, you can have the reservation sent to another person's email address. I put in my wife's address and the reservation, with PNR code, was sent to that address. Subsequently, I purchased as a registered/logged in customer, and did not have this problem. Good luck!

Mark, Larry and David explain it quite well. There seems to be many people suffering the same fate... so I wrote this post, Ticket Purchasing Issues on the Trenitalia Website. It has the same info as Larry and David's responses with a few pictures and the Call Center phone number and email address. Hopefully it won't come to that for you and the Recovery Code option works. Good Luck!

Larry, David & Ron - Thanks for your advice - it worked.
Your all were spot on. For anyone else out there - if it doesn't work with the email you originally sent it to - send it to another - I had to send it to my wife's to get it. Makes no sense, just glad it worked out. Learned my lesson about registering first too. Mark

I have been unsuccessful with my efforts to register with Trenitalia as there seems to be some sort of a glitch in their system for registration too. I did buy some tickets without registering with no snags. Seems like figuring out their site is an ever-changing adventure!
