Keeping Those Travel Dreams Alive

Dear Traveler,

Like you, my staff and I are still waiting on this pandemic to pass. We know that our first order of business is to whup the pandemic. And we also know that when we do, our travelers will be looking to us for safe and smooth travels, and we're determined to be ready with a full slate of great Rick Steves tours.

Here's a review of how we're planning for our 2021 tours: While all 48 of our exciting itineraries are set up and ready to go, we're still holding off on taking deposits. But, with hopeful travel dreams percolating, we're taking names as "wish list" travelers on the tours we hope to lead next year, so you can be the first to know when we're ready to take reservations. (To sign up, visit our Tours page and select "Notify Me" for the tours and dates you're interested in.)

In the meantime, we've established two great ways for you to nurse your travel-bug bites enjoyably — our Guides' Marketplace and our new live streaming event, Monday Night Travel:

Enjoy our Guides' Marketplace, an online hub connecting our travelers with the creative work of our many amazing guides in Europe. They just can't stop teaching and sharing, and — until they're back on the tour buses — they're offering lots of great talks, online tours, and virtual fun and games on the road. Our travelers are loving this.

Join me for our new weekly streaming travel party, Monday Night Travel, which I'm kicking off with behind-the-scenes screenings of each episode in the new season of our TV series, Rick Steves' Europe. (Next Monday, join me virtually in the French Alps and Lyon).

And, so you've got the gear you'll need when we're traveling again, check out our annual holiday sale. From now through December 10, you can stock up on great travel gear and get free shipping on orders of $50 or more.

You'll find more travel-planning inspiration in this month's Tour News, from a day-by-day journey through our Best of Tuscany tour, to an in-depth look at the Renaissance art of Florence, to an interview with Italy tour guide (and wine connoisseur) Francesco Gronchi.

Thank you for trusting us to turn your travel dreams into smooth and affordable reality. And thank you for staying in touch as we await the happy day when we'll all be traveling again.

Happy travels,

Rick
