Magic Moments from Greece

Greece will surprise you at every turn with its ancient monuments, incomparable sites, delicious food, and laid-back lifestyle — it's truly magical. But don't take our word for it. Here are just a few "wow" moments from recent Athens & the Heart of Greece tour alums.

Peloponnese Peninsula

"The Greek geography! We did not expect all of the mountains, the lush green mountain villages, and the wide variety of landscapes. Every turn brought out the ooh-aahs from the bus."

— Steven, May 2026 tour

Acropolis, Athens

"With this tour we were able to see so many wonderful things. My favorite was the Acropolis. It is something that I have seen in the history books that I never thought I would be able to see (in person)."

— Kyle, May 2026 tour

Hydra harbor

"This trip was filled with 'wow' moments!! I especially liked taking a hike around the island of Hydra. Things were starting to bloom, roosters crowing, and burros braying. The views were breathtaking."

"I thought the visit of Olympia was awe-inspiring. Being able to stand on the starting blocks of the Olympic stadium where the early Olympians started their races — WOW!"

"Monemvasia, climbing up to the top of it for beautiful views and then returning to get lost on a trail with amazing 4-foot-tall daisy wildflowers. Loved it!"

—Kathleen, March 2026 tour

Peloponnese folk dancers

"My aha moment was not the amazing countryside, the ruins of Delphi and Olympia, the sometimes quiet beaches, or the uniquely inspiring island of Hydra, it was the people, culture, patriotic pride, and heritage of this small and unique country."

"Millions of 'wow' moments, but one of my earliest on the trip was in Delphi, looking down from the theater, over the Temple of Apollo, overlooking the vast valley below. I could feel the oracle! "
