It housed the summer palace of Prussian king Frederick the Great. And was a hot spot during the Cold War. On the next Travel with Rick Steves, we explore Potsdam, a short ride away from Berlin.
British historian Mary Beard tells us what she's learned about the lives of the Roman emperors. She explains their day-to-day realities of running a vast empire.
And Rick re-traces his post-college adventure along the legendary Hippie Trail. It took him from Istanbul to Afghanistan and India, all the way to Kathmandu.
