- Greta Rybus is a freelance photojournalist, specializing in editorial portraiture, travel, and documentary photography, and the author of "Hot Springs: Photos and Stories of How the World Soaks, Swims, and Slows Down." She also posts her photos on Instagram.

- Wikipedia lists the 17 known "pedestrian circumnavigators" from 1898 to today. To qualify, a person must walk or run around the world and return to their starting point by their own power. However, those who were independently verified for walking around the earth only date back to 1974.
