Program 701: The US Civil Rights Trail; Wild Arctic Svalbard

Release Date: 01-14-2023

On-Air Description

Get an up close view of American history at a hundred sites along the U. S. Civil Rights Trail.

On the next Travel with Rick Steves, we’ll hear how it was organized five years ago, to help all Americans understand what people had to do, to dismantle Jim Crow segregation laws across the South.

And ecologist Chris Morgan explains how the Svalbard archipelago at the top of the world is showing us how a warming climate is a threat to life in the Arctic.
